About our mission & purpose...
Kandice Marie Foundation page is in memory and to honor of our loving daughter, sister, niece, friend & coworker Kandice. We want to keep her legacy alive by helping as many people as we can. Kandice was always about helping others & now to honor her we hope to do the same.
The Foundation seeks to pay tribute to Kandice by reaching as many individuals by donations to charities that deal in mental health awareness and suicide prevention. We want people to know that they are not alone in their struggles no matter how big or small. That help is available & its important to seek that help. The Foundation is hoping to make a difference one small step at a time. We believe with your help we can make that happen.
We are starting out small, but hope with time that we can grow into something that Kandice would be proud of. We want other families, friends & everyone who comes across our site to know we are all in this togther.
Its time for change and the stigma that surrounds mental health, awareness and suicide is far to powerful. Lets take that step in moving forward to stop the stigma.
No Rain. No Flowers.
"during the darker times and periods of struggle, we need to keep the faith that it will be worth it in the end as better times lie ahead."
Kandice Straub was a loving daughter, sister, niece, friend and coworker. She was a caring & compassionate person. She was the person who was always looking out for everyone. Kandice loved spending time with family and friends. She also loved spending time with her dog Diesel, gardening, listening to music, going to concerts and the gym.
From high school age Kandice decided that she wanted to be a in law enforcement and become a police officer. She started her dream at Cuyahoga Community College for a year then she went on to Cleveland State Uiversity where she earned her bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. She even did the FBI Academy class while she was there.
Once graduated with her degree she signed herself up for the police academy. Went through the vigorous training & completed her academy. She applied with several different police departments and ended up choosing the Parma Police Department. Kandice served almost 5 years on the force. She was also chosen for a task force within the department. Kandice decided that she wanted to apply for the swat team. On February 13, 2024 Kandice became the first female to make the Parma Swat team & the Southwest Task Force.
Kandice always thrived to do her best, always wanting to make a difference within her life and the comunity which she served in.. Her smile would light up a room when she walked in. So happy and loving life. Her positivity was astounding! She always made sure to check in on family & friends.
Please help us in our mission and Kandice's legacy... We want to let people know "it's okay not to be okay." Please just reach out & get the help you need. No judgement just help. That you are not alone in this fight. Tomorrow needs you! There is Hope.
We want people to know there is hope!
